In the second of three lectures on the natural history of the Bristol Hills, Dr. Bruce Gilman will present a lecture on how the soil in our glacially carved hills and valleys was composed, and how its composition has shaped human history here. This builds on Gilman’s popular April 13 lecture on the glacial history of our region, and it leads to a talk in spring 2023 on our native plants. Gilman is the region’s leading expert on our lake waters, geology, and flora. Due to the popularity of his previous talk, we will expand seating to our first floor with a video link.
