  • South Bristol Grange Hall 6457 State Route 64 Naples NY 14512 USA (map)

The Historical Society’s popular book History & Mystery: The Folklore and Legends of the Bristol Hills comes to life in this bus tour of the sites depicted in the book. Led by Beth Thomas, one of the book’s writers and the town historian for Bristol and South Bristol, the tour will make about 10 stops as it makes its way in a scenic loop to relive stories like “The Fortune Teller of Worden Hill,” “The Hermit in the Hollow,” “Lonely Lucy,” “The Head in the Box,” and “The Green Man of the Sugar Bush.” This version of the tour ends at the South Bristol Scenic Overlook to view the annual Ring of Fire around Canandaigua Lake. Ticket prices and reservation details to be announced. All net proceeds benefit the volunteer-run Bristol Hills Historical Society. Sign up for email announcements at the bottom of any page on this website. For more on the book and its stories, including an animated video telling some of the tales as well as the story of how the book was made, go here.
