Bristol's historic Burning Springs site holds its annual open garden tour over three afternoons on two consecutive weekends. Visitors can view the burning spring that Senecas revered and showed to French explorers in 1669, walk up the gully to a scenic waterfall, tour the spring-blooming gardens, and see an archaeological dig in progress at the site of the farm's original log cabin. The private property's owner, who allows access only during this annual event, will give a talk on the site's history at 2 p.m. on each of the three days the site is open. A charitable contribution of $5 to the historical society is appreciated. Children welcome. This event repeats on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5.
